The Bauchi State Government has officially launched its maiden Bauchi State Investment Summit 1.0, a two-day event aimed at unlocking the state’s economic potential and attracting both local and foreign investors.

Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, who inaugurated the summit at the newly commissioned Ahmadu Bello International Conference Centre (ICC), called for renewed patriotism and unity among Nigerians. He emphasized that no nation can achieve sustainable growth without the active participation of its citizens and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to creating a secure and investor-friendly environment.

Former President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan also graced the occasion, commending Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration for its vision in hosting the summit. He described subnational initiatives such as Bauchi’s as vital to diversifying Nigeria’s economy, creating jobs, and strengthening democracy through economic inclusion.

Governor Bala Mohammed, in his remarks, said the summit represented more than an event—it was a declaration of intent toward inclusive and sustainable growth. He highlighted Bauchi’s rich endowments in agriculture, solid minerals, and tourism, pledging his administration’s continued support through infrastructure development, favorable policies, and investment incentives.

The governor noted that the new ICC stands as a symbol of Bauchi’s readiness to engage global partners and drive innovation. Dignitaries, diplomats, and investors from countries including China, Turkey, Serbia, and Tunisia attended the event, alongside traditional leaders led by the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, who advocated for peace and security as foundations for development.

Governor Mohammed expressed optimism that the summit would mark a turning point in Bauchi’s economic transformation, positioning the state as a leading investment destination in Nigeria and beyond.
