Muhammad Danjuma is a distinguished author, journalist, and activist who has made significant contributions to his community through his impactful work in media and literature. His journey in journalism began in 1989 at Gaskiya tafi Kwabo, Northern Nigeria's pioneering vernacular newspaper. Over the years, Danjuma has written extensively, primarily in Hausa, and actively engages with various Hausa media platforms, solidifying his reputation as a pivotal figure in the region's media landscape.

Danjuma is the founder and driving force behind Matasa Media Links, a consultancy firm that oversees popular online platforms such as Katsina Times, Katsina City News, and Taskar Labarai. Journalism and Activism
Danjuma's commitment to journalism is deeply rooted in his desire to communicate directly with his audience. He captures this aspiration succinctly: "Abin da ya sa nake rubutu da Hausa shi ne domin sakona ya isa kai tsaye ga alummar da nake magana dasu...ba tare da neman fassara ko sharhi ba" (I write in Hausa to ensure my message reaches my audience directly, without the need for an interpreter or commentator).
He founded the Katsina State chapter of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) and has held various positions within the organization. Danjuma has also played a crucial role in organizing Northern Nigeria writers' summits and continues to lead the Writers Bureau since 2013.
His activism has not been without challenges. Danjuma's outspoken nature led to several run-ins with law enforcement agencies, especially during the Abacha regime, when he was suspected of collaborating with the late Tajudeen Abdurrahim, a notable figure behind Radio Kudirat.

Community Empowerment
Danjuma's commitment to his community extends beyond journalism. Inspired by his interactions with influential figures like the late Inspector General of Police MD Yusuf, he established the Katsina Vocational Training Centre in 2000. The centre aims to rehabilitate and empower youths involved in drug abuse and political thuggery by providing vocational training in over 27 trades. Since its inception, the centre has trained 11,551 individuals, transforming countless lives.
The centre's achievements include the establishment of government-owned outlets like the Babbar Ruga Rehabilitation Centre and the Katsina Youth Craft and Daura Vocational Centre. It also collaborates with the state NDLEA command to train drug addicts during rehabilitation and works closely with various NGOs.
In addition to vocational training, the centre has created the MD Yusuf Research and Documentation Centre, which organizes annual seminars and workshops to enhance research capabilities and advance knowledge.
