MBASE Holds Crucial Stakeholders’ Meeting Ahead of 2025 School Census

The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MBASE) yesterday hosted a high-level stakeholders’ meeting to strategize for the successful conduct of the 2025 Annual School Census. The event, held at the Ministry’s Conference Hall, aimed to ensure accurate data collection for improved education planning and resource allocation.  

Hon. Commissioner Hajiya Zainab Musa Musawa, in her keynote address, stressed the need for collaboration among stakeholders to achieve a credible and inclusive census. “Accurate data is critical for policy formulation, strategic planning, and equitable distribution of resources in our education sector,” she stated.  

The meeting drew participation from government officials, private school representatives, and development partners, underscoring the importance of a unified approach. Key objectives discussed included transparency, inclusiveness, and precision in data gathering.  

Dignitaries in attendance included:
- Hajiya Ummulkhairi Ahmed Bawa, Permanent Secretary, MBASE  
- Dr. Nasir Dan Zaria, Director, Planning, Research, and Statistics (PRS), MBASE  
- Professor Kabir I. Matazu, Executive Secretary, Katsina Science and Technical Education Board  
- Dr. Kabir Magaji Gafia, Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB)  
- Hajiya Binta Abdulmumini, State Coordinator, TESS Project  
- Professor Saifillahi Sani Ibrahim, Statistician General, Katsina State Bureau of Statistics  
- Representatives from private and community schools, AGILE Project, UNICEF, and KATIDICT  

The 2025 school census is expected to provide vital insights into the state of education in Katsina, aiding policymakers in addressing gaps and improving service delivery.
