All preparations have been concluded for the commemoration of World Radio Day 2024 in Katsina State.
The 6th edition of the World Radio Day in Katsina State ,with the theme: The Role of Radio in Promoting Democracy and Good Governance, will hold on Tuesday, 13th February, 2024 at the premises of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Katsina State Council.
The colourful commemorative event, will featured paper presentations, students’ debate, culture and arts display.
A paper titled: *The Role of Radio in promoting* *Democracy and Good* *Governance in the Northern States of* *Nigeria*,will be presented by Dr. Kabir Umar Musa from Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina while professor Aliyu Ibrahim Kankara from the Federal University, Dutsinma will present a paper title: *The Role of Radio in Promoting Hausa Music.*
There will be a debate with the motion: *Radio is Better than Television* to be performed by the students of Government Day Senior Secondary School Kofar Yandaka and Government Pilot Senior Secondary School, Kofar Sauri.
Also, many modern and traditional musicians are invited to entertain the participants.
The 6th edition of the World Radio Day in Katsina State will be chaired by a distinguished jurist, the honourable Chief Judge of Katsina State, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar, while a peace-maker and royal father, Kanwan Katsina, Alhaji Usman Kankara Bello,mni will serve as the Royal Father of the Day.
Meanwhile, His Excellency, Executive Governor of Katsina State, Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD is expected to grace the august event as Special Guest of Honour.
Other participants include Radio Clubs and fans of Radio from within and outside the State.
