Sheikh Yahuza the son of Malam Sa’ad was born in the year
1883 in a village called Wosunu in the Zazzau Kingdom. His ancestors migrated
from Yantumaki in Katsina state. He was 20 years old when the colonialists took
overt the Usman Dan Fodio Islamic Empire.
He started education at an early age of seven. He was
handed to one of the clerics from the family called Malam Abdurra’uf. They
travelled to Borno with him. They returned to Zaria after some years in Borno.
He later moved to Kano where he settled at Gezawa where he
established a school and worked as a farmer. He studied under scholars of Madabo and Salga. He studied deeply and
became a scholar.
His house in Zaria is still a centre of learning. He died
in 1958.
He is one of the scholars highly regarded by Sheikh Ibrahim
Nyass due to his indepth knowledge.
He authored no fewer than 50 books that include among
others, Fathul Jawad, an exegesis of Irshadus salik, Bustan ahlul falah Fi
sha’nin nikah, Nuzumal hafiz, an exegesis of Ashmawy, Manhaj as salik fi
ma’rifati manasik and Sharh al Qurtabi.
Others include, Urjuzatul waldan, Miftahal sibyan, Khulasat
al mabahith, Nuzum muqaddimatus Sanusi and Miftahul Tauhid fi ma’rifatil Majid.
Others are Fada’il tariqat Tijjani and Matlabal khillan fi
fiqhi ahkam wirdu tijjaniyya among others.
