Kabul: The World Health Organization (WHO) reported that since the beginning of winter, the number of patients with respiratory problems has increased. The cold weather is also considered to be the cause.

It is further stated that since January 1, 2024, in 34 provinces of Afghanistan, more than 286,000 people have contracted respiratory diseases, and a total of 668 people have died among them.

The World Health Organization also said that more than 63 percent of the patients were children under the age of five and nearly 50 percent of them were women.

Aid organizations had predicted that due to the economic problem, Afghanistan will face a difficult winter this year.
