All Progressives Congress stakeholders in Kankara/Faskari/Sabuwa Federal Constituency of Katsina State have affirmed Hon. Hamza Sule Faskari as the consensus candidate to run for the House of Representatives seat from the constituency under the party's platform in the 2027 general elections.
At the affirmation rally held at Kankara, different party stalwarts took turns to commend the decision of the consensus committee for responding to popular demand among party leaders, members and stakeholders who urged the committee to adopt Hon. Hamza Sule as the party's flag bearer for the constituency.
The Chairman of the consensus committee, Alhaji ... explained that the consensus was a unanimous decision by stakeholders from the 31 wards across the three local government areas of the constituency who represented the views of party members in their wards.
He said among factors considered in the consensus decision was the candidate's popularity, level of acceptance among the electorate, commitment to the party and track record in politics and public service.
He noted that Hamza Sule has met all the criteria and, if elected, will competently represent the people of the constituency and boost the party's popularity and level of support among the electorate.
Meanwhile the state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Faruk Lawal Jobe, who commended the consensus committee in the constituency and the zone under the leadership of former state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Tukur Ahmad Jikamshi, for doing a thorough job.
While appealing to contestants that lost out in the primaries to take the committee's decision in good faith, Jobe urged them to join hands with other APC members to work towards the party's victory in the general elections.
In his acceptance speech, the consensus candidate, Hon. Hamza Sule, thanked the party stakeholders for their confidence in his capacity to represent the constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.
He appealed for unity among party leaders am members an those that had not obtained their voter cards to do so as the party faces the general elections next year.
Faskari said if elected to represent the constituency, he would prioritize security by mobilizing the deployment of more security personnel and equipment and the adoption of more effective strategies to combat banditry and kidnapping in the three local government areas.
Hon Hamza Sule is a two-time Commissioner for Environment in Katsina State, a former Legislative Aide to the Senator representing Funtua Zone, and one of the most influential politicians in the zone.
He is also a renowned philanthropist, businessman, large scale farmer and holder of the titles of Wamban Faskari in Faskari District and Sadaukin Kasar Hausa in the Daura Emirate.
He is widely as a strong pillar of support for the All Progressives Congress due to his large numbers of supporters and and beneficiaries of his various philanthropic gestures.
