A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Dutsinma A Ward, Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State, Umar T. Abdullahi, popularly known as Umar TATA, has resigned from the party after eight years of membership.

In a letter dated April 18, 2026, and addressed to the ward chairman, Abdullahi formally notified the party of his decision to withdraw his membership. He attributed his exit to his failure to renew his membership during the party’s e-registration exercise.

He also confirmed returning his old membership registration card as part of the withdrawal process.

Abdullahi expressed appreciation to the party leadership and members for the support and cooperation he received throughout his time in the APC.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from the party leadership in the area regarding his resignation.
