Police, Correctional Service Strengthen Collaboration in Katsina

The Commissioner of Police in Katsina State, CP Bello Shehu, has received the newly deployed Controller of Corrections, Abdulrashid Sule, on a courtesy visit at the State Police Command Headquarters.

The meeting centred on deepening operational collaboration between the Police Command and the Nigerian Correctional Service in the administration of criminal justice and the enhancement of security across the state.

Speaking during the visit, the Controller of Corrections stressed the importance of sustained inter-agency cooperation, noting that both institutions play complementary roles in maintaining public safety and ensuring effective custodial management. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Correctional Service to improved synergy in tackling emerging security challenges.

In his remarks, CP Bello Shehu described the visit as timely and strategic, underscoring the need for continuous engagement and coordinated efforts among security agencies. He assured the Controller of the Command’s continued support and openness to constructive collaboration aimed at strengthening service delivery.

The visit concluded with discussions on areas of mutual interest, the signing of the visitors’ register, and a group photograph.
