Authorities in Burkina Faso have that they discovered and foiled a coup planned to assassinate the country's Leader, Ibrahim Traore.
The Burkina Faso's Minister of Defense, Muhammadu Sana confirmed this, revealing a video that shows plans to kill the President either by direct shooting or bombing his residence.
The video also indicated plots to take out other top Military Personnel after the President's assassination.
The Defense Minister accused the ousted President of the country for engineering the assassination plots.
Reports say the ousted President, Lieutenant Colonel Henri Damiba mobilized military personnel and civilians supporters where he accumulated CFA 70 million. He also planned to destroy the drone airspace of the country.
The Minister said several suspects have been arrested and investigation is currently going on before subsequent prosecution.
Since take over of the country's leadership in 2022, Captain Traore has encountered many coup attempts and threats from Jihadits organizations.
