The family of Ahmed Musa, a student murdered at Government Technical College, Malali, Kaduna, on February 16, 2025, has condemned the release of the prime suspect in the case, describing the development as a betrayal of justice.
In a statement on Tuesday, the family expressed deep outrage and disappointment over the Kaduna State Government’s handling of the case, alleging that the decision to free the suspect has undermined efforts to secure justice for the late student.
According to the family, they now intend to approach the Federal High Court to challenge what they described as unfair treatment and to seek redress.
“We demand an expedited, transparent, and decisive legal process,” the statement said. “We will resist any attempts at political interference or compromise.”
The family is demanding N560.3 million in compensation from the Kaduna State Government, accusing authorities of negligence and complicity in the release of the suspects.
As part of efforts to draw public attention to the case, the family announced plans to hold a mass protest across Kaduna State to demand justice for Ahmed Musa and to highlight what they termed continued neglect.
They also appealed to members of the public, civil society organisations, and human rights advocates to support their quest for justice.
The statement was signed by Comrade Musa Mohammed (Moonlight), the biological father of the slain student.
