In today’s contemporary world where most girls and women heavily depends for their livelihood and most girls and women significantly prioritizes all the luxurious fashionables materials in the name of class, fashion, and the good life is no doubt something to worry about. As most of our young had been led astray and thereby resulting significant social vices such as rape, killings and murder etc., this has unavoidably affected the socio economy and reputation of the nation.
This was the case with many women around world though not all, those who seek the pleasure and luxury at all cost not minding the other side of the coin. Thereby most of them are label as either gold diggers or money seekers. However, amongst the same gender, the same century and in this modern times, there stood a girl that dares to challenge and change that perception.
Nevertheless, few of the girls stood out to be strong and independent. Standing tall against the test of time and winning the war against such violent beliefs by turning their own liability in ability, pains into blessings, challenges into oppurnities and weakness into strengths. While holding onto hope as their main reason to move that strong and keep moving.
Like the popular adage, what a man can do woman can do even it better. I was really in doubt of this adage until I meet summaya. Who is a beauty that is irresistible with a well-designed structure by the all mighty creator, crowned it all, her kindness, gentleness, softness, jovial, and lovely manner made her quite unique. She is an embodiment of, and even the words of determination and resilience can’t describe. A girl who showed me a different meaning and understanding of that concept. I meet this humble yet hardworking soul on a fateful weekend, where I got carried away by seriousness and commitment to what she does, working so hard today as if tomorrow would never exist. So compassionate in being independent and staying strong along the line. I was left in awe to see a dazzling beauty but who doesn’t care about asking from a man. But rather from her own pockets
The life story of summaya is quite fascinating and interesting, born and breaded in a middle class family in Benue State. Her early life was blessed by love from her parents. She had primary and secondary education both in Benue state. However in the latter days of her life, she moved to stay with her aunt in the capital city of Abakaliki,, Ebonyi state. Summay whose love for education inspires her to work harder and stay determined and focus in discharging her duties to which I happen to be a live to witness.
For girls like summaya, who held onto their self-respect and self-independent ought to strive harder in order to maintain such peer pressure coupled with personal and family bills. To be able to preserve and maintain such line, they also looks forward to avoid heavily depending on men for their live hood. For Summaya, she is warrior, a fighter, and a well religio-cultural preserved person. Who can work anything and anywhere in other to see that she is not the least, you can choose. She wakes up as early as possible and sleeps late after everyone. Indeed, if all girls are like her or have the same heart and spirit like her. It’s assured that there will be less dependency and lesser reported cases of rapes, killing and murder of girls by the ritualists. For Summaya who grows up in a locality where good attitude and manner interwoven with religious and cultural influence which directs and guides not only her private life but also in her public life.
