The Katsina State Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu, on Monday, 28th July 2025, decorated a total of 589 officers recently promoted across various ranks within the Nigeria Police Force, urging them to redouble their commitment to professional policing and public service.

The decoration ceremony, held at the State Police Headquarters, was attended by top police officers, family members, and well-wishers of the promoted personnel.

According to the Command, three officers were elevated to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), while others were promoted from Sergeant to Inspector and from Corporal to Sergeant.

In his address, CP Bello Shehu expressed appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, and the Police Service Commission for finding the officers worthy of elevation. He described the promotions as a reward for dedication, loyalty, and hard work.

“Promotion in the police force comes with greater responsibilities. I urge you all to see this advancement as a call to intensify your efforts in service delivery, discipline, and dedication to duty,” the CP said.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, ACP Abdullahi Muhammad Dattijo, Assistant Commissioner in charge of Finance and Administration, expressed deep appreciation to the IGP, the Police Service Commission, and the Katsina State Police Command. He pledged that the beneficiaries would continue to uphold the values of the force and justify the confidence placed in them.

“We are truly honoured and will continue to serve with integrity and commitment,” ACP Dattijo said.

The colourful event ended with celebration and photo sessions, as families and friends joined in marking the milestone achievement of the officers.
