The Katsina State Department of Local Government Inspectorate has vowed to take stern action against staff members found guilty of providing false information. This follows a recent incident where a staff member on special assignment to the Works Department submitted a deliberately false report.
The staff member, tasked with inspecting a project in Kaita Local Government Council, failed to provide an authentic report, leading the Inspectorate to take action against officials of the Local Government Area (LGA) based on false information. However, a review by the Department revealed that the project was indeed completed.
Consequently, the Special Adviser, LG Inspectorate, Hon. Lawal Rufa'i Safana, has ordered the officer's redeployment to the Local Government Service Commission for reassignment.
Hon. Lawal Rufa'i Safana reaffirmed the Department's commitment to objectivity and discipline, warning that insubordination and laxity will no longer be tolerated.
The Inspectorate Department remains dedicated to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in discharging its duties.
