The Katsina State Government has declared Monday, 14th July 2025, as a work-free day in honour of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, who passed away in London on the evening of Saturday, 13th July 2025.
The announcement was made by the Secretary to the Government of Katsina State, Abdullahi Garba Faskari. He explained that the holiday is aimed at allowing workers and residents of the state to join the nation in mourning the loss and offering prayers for the late leader.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda described the death of President Buhari as a profound loss not only to Katsina State but to Nigeria at large. In his condolence message, Governor Radda expressed sympathy to the late president’s family and the people of Nigeria. He praised Buhari as a dedicated statesman, a patriotic leader, a hero, and a true democrat whose life was committed to serving the country.
The Governor prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the former president and reward his good deeds with Aljannatul Firdaus.
