ZTCA Honours KASSAROTA DG with Anti-Corruption Award
The Zero Tolerance for Corruption Association (ZTCA) has honoured the Director-General of the Katsina State Safety and Road Traffic Authority (KASSAROTA), Major Garba Yahya Rimi (Rtd), with an Award of Excellence in recognition of his unwavering commitment to integrity, transparency, and the fight against corruption within the authority.
The award presentation was held at the KASSAROTA headquarters in Katsina and attended by board members, management staff, and representatives of ZTCA.
According to the Public Relations Officer of KASSAROTA, Abubakar Marwana Kofar Sauri, in a press statement issued to journalists, the award highlights the growing recognition of the DG’s leadership style, which prioritises accountability and ethical conduct in public service.
In his remarks, Major Rimi—who holds the traditional title Tafidan Kauran Katsina—expressed gratitude for the honour, describing it as both humbling and motivating. He reiterated the authority’s commitment to upholding the anti-corruption stance of Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, and pledged to continue delivering credible, transparent service to the people of Katsina State.
Speaking during the event, the National Secretary of ZTCA, Ambassador Kamal S. Koli, explained that the association is a youth-led platform aimed at promoting anti-corruption awareness and public accountability. He noted that the award followed a comprehensive assessment by the association’s executive committee.
“This honour is in recognition of your exemplary leadership—your consistency, humility, and zero-tolerance approach to corruption in public service,” Ambassador Koli stated.
He added that ZTCA partners with civil society organisations, faith-based groups, government agencies, and international stakeholders to advance good governance and integrity across the country.
Also delivering a goodwill message, the Chairman of the KASSAROTA Board and former Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Alhaji Dallami Yar’Adua, praised Major Rimi for his commitment, professionalism, and results-driven approach. He also commended ZTCA for its role in identifying and celebrating individuals who uphold transparency in service delivery.
“This award is timely and significant. It affirms the importance of recognising leadership that inspires trust and confidence in public institutions,” Yar’Adua noted.
The event concluded with calls from stakeholders for public officials across all sectors to emulate Major Rimi’s leadership qualities and continue promoting integrity in governance.
