The Deputy Governor of Katsina State and Amirul Hajj for the 2025 pilgrimage, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe, has praised the officials and staff of the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board for their efforts in ensuring a smooth and well-organized Hajj exercise this year.
Malam Faruk gave the commendation during a pre-Hajj inspection visit to key religious sites in Mina, Muzdalifah, and Arafat to assess the level of preparedness for the Katsina contingent.
Accompanied by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Justice Aminu Tukur, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, and other members of the state delegation and Pilgrims Board, the Amirul Hajj urged all stakeholders to rededicate themselves in the final stages of the Hajj exercise to guarantee its overall success.
During the inspection, Malam Faruk Lawal visited pilgrims’ tents, toilets, and other key facilities, directing the immediate replacement of worn-out mattresses and repairs to the cooling systems to ensure comfort for the pilgrims.
He also stressed the importance of synergy and effective collaboration among all officials, noting that teamwork was essential to sustaining the quality of service delivery throughout the Hajj period.
In addition, the Amirul Hajj ordered the provision of identification materials such as banners and stickers to be placed at pilgrims’ tents for easy navigation and guidance. He also instructed the management to liaise with tent officials to secure additional space and more mattresses to enhance the pilgrims’ comfort.
This marks the first pre-Hajj inspection tour ever conducted by a serving Amirul Hajj from Katsina State—a strategic move aimed at improving oversight and ensuring the success of the 2025 pilgrimage.
