The Katsina State Fives Association has formally delivered Trophies and Medals won to the state commissioner of sports and youth development, Alh Aliyu Lawal Zakari Shargalle.
The Association's Chairman, Alh Mannir Ibrahim Talba, led members to present the trophies and Medals to the sports commissioner during a ceremony conducted in the ministry's conference room.
The association has won several trophies and medals, including the Kaduna National Sardauna Fives Tournament 2024 and the first edition of the National Open Unity Fives Championship in Sokoto.
The Association also won the annual Emir of Katsina Interstates Fives Championship in 2023, as well as gold medals in the National Youth Games in Abeokuta 2006, Ilorin 2022 and Asaba 2023 respectively.
Shortly after receiving the trophies, State Sports Commissioner Aliyu Lawal Zakari expressed his joy at receiving the Association's trophies and medals.
Aliyu Lawal Zakari Shargalle promised to present the trophies and medals to the state governor, Mal Dikko Umar Radda.
The Sports Commissioner reiterated the state government's willingness to continue supporting the Fives Association in order to achieve their goals.
He used the occasion to thank the State Coordinator AGILE for constructing 65 Fives Codes in various schools across the state and to confirm the state government's readiness to construct a suitable Fives Code at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
