Aminu Balele Dan Arewa Empowers 3,000 Beneficiaries with N50,000 Financial Aid

Launches Boreholes, Solar Streetlights, and Youth Empowerment Initiatives

At least 3,000 residents from Dutsin-Ma and Kurfi Local Government Areas in Katsina State have benefitted from financial aid distributed by Hon. Aminu Balele Dan Arewa to support his constituency.

While many received N50,000 each, others were given N30,000 along with food items to help alleviate the economic hardship. The distribution was conducted directly to the most vulnerable households to ensure fairness and transparency.

Infrastructure Development

In addition to financial support, Hon. Dan Arewa commissioned several key projects to improve living conditions in his constituency. These projects include the construction of six solar-powered boreholes in Kurfi, strategically located at:

  1. Nasarawa, near GPSS Kurfi Mosque
  2. Sabuwar Unguwa, near Malam Muhalla’s residence
  3. Saulawa, near the late Alhaji Ali Sarkin Aska’s house
  4. Eastern Market, near Yar Chediya
  5. Low-Cost Area, near the mosque
  6. Kofar Arewa, near Shehu School

He also initiated the installation of solar-powered streetlights in critical areas across Dutsin-Ma and Kurfi to enhance security and night-time visibility.

Youth Employment and Empowerment

To address youth unemployment, Hon. Dan Arewa secured six job placements at the Fire Service Department for young constituents, with employment set to begin on February 4, 2025.

Additionally, he launched several youth support programs, including:

  • Scholarship Grants: 300 students in public tertiary institutions received N30,000 each to ease the financial burden of subsidy removal.
  • ICT Training: 52 youths were trained in modern technology skills, receiving high-end HP laptops worth over N350,000 each, along with N100,000 for training expenses.

Legislative Efforts and Security Initiatives

As a committed lawmaker, Hon. Dan Arewa has sponsored key motions and bills, including:

  • A motion urging the government to end bandit attacks in Dutsin-Ma, Kurfi, and neighboring communities.
  • A bill for the establishment of the Northwest Development Commission to rehabilitate conflict-affected areas.
  • A bill to establish the Hunters and Forest Security Service to combat forest-related crimes.
  • A bill for the creation of a Federal College of Agriculture in Kurfi, Katsina State.

Humanitarian and Community Support

Beyond legislative contributions, Hon. Dan Arewa has also undertaken various humanitarian projects, such as:

  • Installation of solar streetlights in Dutsin-Ma and Kurfi
  • Construction of roads in both towns
  • Payment of salaries for Imams and their deputies in Jumu’ah mosques since March 2024
  • Support for 50 local vigilantes to enhance community security
  • Provision of medical assistance and relief funds for flood victims

Residents of Dutsin-Ma and Kurfi have expressed gratitude for Hon. Dan Arewa’s dedication to their welfare and development. In response, he reaffirmed his commitment to implementing more projects aimed at improving the lives of his constituents.
