Commissioner Lauds Funtua Varsity Progress

INSPECTION OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCE FUNTUA: HONORABLE COMMISSIONER EXPRESSES SATISFACTION WITH PROGRESS.

The Honorable Commissioner of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Hajiya Zainab Musa Musawa, conducted an inspection of the ongoing renovation and upgrading of the Federal University of Medical and Health Science Funtua on 18th, February, 2025. Accompanied by the Director of Works, MBASE, she supervised the progress of the project and expressed her satisfaction with the level of work and quality of the ongoing renovation.

During the inspection, the Honorable Commissioner commended the contractor for the commendable efforts made so far and urged them to double their efforts to ensure the project is completed according to the deadline. The project, which is approximately 60-70% complete, entails a comprehensive upgrade and renovation of the existing structure, including administration blocks, lecture rooms, male and female hostels, staff quarters, and three laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Additionally, provisions have been made for two solar boreholes, one allocated to staff quarters and the other to student hostels, as well as the construction of a road with a culvert. The Governor has also allocated an additional five hectares of land for future expansion, demonstrating the state government's commitment to providing quality education and infrastructure to its citizens.

The establishment of the Federal University of Medical and Health Science Funtua was recently approved by the Federal government, and the Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda PhD CON, allocated the University site and approved its upgrade and general renovation with provisions of furniture. The Honorable Commissioner commended the Governor's tireless efforts and investment in the education sector, stating that this development is a testament to the state government's dedication to providing quality education and infrastructure to its citizens.
