Katsina United secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Enyimba International FC in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2024/25 season matchday 25 fixture at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.

The home side started the game with intense pressure, as Mubarak Sa’id and Ahmed Kabir Yallilo tested Enyimba’s defense early on. Despite dominating possession, Katsina United failed to break the deadlock in the first 30 minutes, with Lukman Bello and Yallilo missing crucial chances.

However, the breakthrough came in the 40th minute when Bello Lukman nodded in a well-delivered corner kick from Moses Achare, sending the home fans into celebration. Katsina United maintained their 1-0 lead until halftime, despite Bello receiving brief medical attention.

Enyimba fought back, making tactical substitutions and winning a penalty deep into stoppage time (90+2’), which they successfully converted. Despite late pressure from the visitors, Katsina United held firm to claim all three points, boosting their confidence in the NPFL campaign.

  • 49' – GOAL! Lukman scores again, doubling the lead for the hosts.
  • 90+2' – GOAL! Enyimba convert a late penalty but fall short of a comeback.

Katsina United will look to build on this momentum in their next fixture, while Enyimba aims to bounce back from this away defeat.
