The Katsina State Independent Electoral Commission (KTSIEC) has announced the final results of the local government elections held on February 15, 2025, with the All Progressives Congress (APC) securing victory in all available seats.

The collation process faced delays due to logistical challenges in some areas, preventing the immediate announcement of final results. By midnight on election day, only 24 out of 34 local government areas had submitted their results. The remaining 10—Batsari, Charanchi, Dandume, Daura, Funtua, Kankia, Katsina, Mani, Dutsinma, and Sabuwa—submitted theirs on Sunday, February 16.

According to the final results released by KTSIEC, APC won all 34 local government chairmanship positions and councilor seats across the state, leaving no gains for other contesting parties, which included Accord (A), African Action Congress (AAC), African Development Congress (ADC), and Boot Party (BP).

Following the announcement, KTSIEC expressed gratitude to the people of Katsina for their cooperation, particularly stakeholders who contributed to ensuring a peaceful electoral process.

Reacting to the outcome, the chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Katsina, Alhaji Salimu Lawal Boyi, commended KTSIEC for conducting a smooth and peaceful election. Speaking at a press conference in Katsina on Sunday, he also praised all candidates who participated, encouraging those who lost to remain resilient and prepare for future elections.

He urged unsuccessful candidates not to lose hope but to learn from the experience and strategize ahead of upcoming polls. Boyi also congratulated the winners and called for unity among all political actors to foster development in the state.
