Insecurity: Katsina relaxes restriction on use of motorcycles, tricycles in 19 LGAs

The Katsina government has reviewed the ban on the use of commercial tricycles and motorcycles at night in 19 LGAs of the state.

On August 27, the government banned the use of commercial motorcycles and tricycles at night across 19 LGAs as part of efforts to enhance security in the state.

Tricycles and motorcycles were banned from operating from 8pm to 6am across 19 LGAs of the state.

NAN reports that Nasir Mu’azu, Katsina commissioner for internal security, said in a statement on Wednesday that the ban would now be enforced between 10pm and 6am.

Mu’azu said the decision was made during a security council meeting on Tuesday.

He added that the security council thanked residents of the state for their cooperation and support.

He assured that efforts are being made by the government to tackle the security challenges in the state.

The LGAs are Sabuwa, Dandume, Funtua, Faskari, Bakori, Kankara, Danja, Kafur, Malumfashi, Musawa, Matazu, Danmusa, Safana, Dutsinma, Kurfi, Charanchi, Jibia, Batsari and Kankia.
