The National Sports Commission (NSC) has expressed readiness to collaborate with the Katsina State Sports Ministry in transforming sporting facilities and supporting local talent development in the state.

This was revealed during a working visit by Katsina State Sports Commissioner, Aliyu Lawal Zakari Shargalle, alongside the Chairman of the Katsina State Football Academy, Ahmed Muhammad, to the NSC Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Dikko, in Abuja.

During the meeting, Commissioner Shargalle emphasized the state’s interest in partnering with the NSC to upgrade key sporting infrastructures, particularly the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, to meet international standards. He also sought NSC’s support in promoting players from the state’s football academy to enhance their national-level participation.

Describing the collaboration as a significant step for sports development in Katsina, Shargalle expressed optimism that the partnership would bring positive changes to the state’s athletic landscape.

In response, NSC Chairman Alhaji Shehu Dikko welcomed the initiative and assured the delegation of the commission’s full support. He pledged to facilitate the renovation of the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium and enhance sporting activities across the state.

As part of the collaboration, Dikko announced his plans to visit Katsina during an upcoming football scouting tournament organized by the France-based Bondy Football Academy in partnership with the Katsina Football Academy.
