Tinubu has named Zacch Adedeji as the new Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

President Bola Tinubu approved Zacch Adedeji's appointment as the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

The President instructed the former FIRS Chairman, Mr. Muhammad Nami, to commence a 3-month pre-retirement leave, as specified by Public Service Rule (PSR) 120243. This takes effect immediately, leading to his retirement on December 8, 2023.

Adedeji is appointed in an acting capacity for 90 days before his subsequent confirmation as the substantive Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service for a term of four (4) years initially.

Adedeji graduated with first-class honors in accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University. He most recently served as the Special Adviser to the President on Revenue, following successful tenures as the Oyo State Commissioner of Finance and as the Executive Secretary/CEO of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC).

These presidential directives result in the immediate implementation of the new appointment.
