The attention of the Katsina State Road Traffic Authority (KASSAROTA) has been drawn to reports of individuals parading themselves as KASSAROTA officers and engaging in illegal activities in some parts of the state. These individuals have been stopping motorists and motorcyclists under the pretense of enforcing the law, extorting money, and fabricating offenses to seize vehicles or impose arbitrary fines.
The Authority categorically states that such actions are not authorized by KASSAROTA and those engaging in these acts are impostors. The behavior described goes against the ethics, principles, and operational standards of the Authority.
KASSAROTA is committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of all road users in the state. As such, we have zero tolerance for any form of corruption, intimidation, or exploitation of the public. We urge members of the public to report any suspicious activities or individuals claiming to be KASSAROTA officers to the nearest authorities.
The Authority also calls on community leaders and local stakeholders to assist in spreading awareness about these fraudulent individuals and to collaborate with law enforcement agencies in apprehending them.
We understand the economic challenges faced by many and emphasize that KASSAROTA remains dedicated to serving the people of Katsina State with integrity and professionalism.
