Katsina Police Nab Suspects for Kidnapping, Fraud

The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended multiple suspects linked to crimes including kidnapping, fraud, and theft, according to the spokesperson, ASP Abubakar Sadiq.  

In Kankia Local Government Area, Mu’azu Yunusa, a resident of Mai Danko, Tudun Willi village, was arrested on November 24, 2024, over his involvement in two kidnapping operations in the area. The victims included a 14-year-old girl and a housewife, among five individuals abducted during the incidents.  

Separately, operatives apprehended 37-year-old Bishir Abdullahi of Helele quarters, Sokoto State, on November 25, 2024. Abdullahi was found in possession of 14 stolen ATM cards, which he allegedly used to withdraw millions of naira from unsuspecting victims.  

Meanwhile, a five-man gang notorious for breaking into shops and stealing goods was detained by officers from the Sabon Gari Katsina Division. The gang, which had been terrorizing the Sabon Gari community, was caught with stolen items, including women’s wrappers, detergents, and foodstuffs.  

In other operations, two suspects were arrested for vandalizing public buildings, including the Ministry of Transport and the Customs Clinic in Jibia. Additionally, another suspect was apprehended for an attempted homicide in Katsina metropolis.  

The police command emphasized that investigations into these cases are ongoing and assured that all suspects will face prosecution once inquiries are concluded.  

ASP Abubakar Sadiq reiterated the commitment of the Katsina State Police Command to ensuring public safety and encouraged residents to report suspicious activities promptly.
