Bandits Claim 2 Lives and Abduct 6 in Kebbi

Suspected bandits have claimed the lives of two individuals and abducted seven others in Kwarkwarasa village, located in the Maiyama local government area of Kebbi State. They subsequently released one of the abducted victims.

Aliyu Mohammed Liba, the district head of Andarai, revealed the incident to journalists who visited the area yesterday. According to Liba, the bandits launched their attack on the village over the weekend during rainfall while the residents were asleep.

Liba reported that the gunmen took the lives of two individuals and abducted seven villagers. He further noted that they later released one of the seven abducted persons, leaving six others in their captivity, including one female.

Governor Nasir Idris, who personally visited the village shortly after the incident to express his sympathy, has donated N10 million to the families of the deceased and those who sustained injuries in the attack. He reassured the community that the government had implemented measures to prevent a recurrence of such incidents in the area.

The governor emphasized that his administration, under his watch, has provided security agencies with all the necessary support and cooperation to combat criminal activities across the state. He affirmed his commitment to ensuring that the state becomes a place where people can sleep peacefully and conduct their daily activities without fear of harassment.
