The Life and Education of a Humble Leader Born on March 3, 1968, in the historic town of Tsauri, Honourable Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi Tsauri’s journey reflects a life of academic excellence and continuous personal development. His primary education began at the then Tsauri Primary School (now Tsauri Model Primary School) in 1974, where his exceptional talents quickly marked him as one of the few pupils selected for advanced studies at the prestigious Katsina Teachers College. There, he embarked on his journey into the noble profession of teaching, gaining the foundational skills that would later shape his career in public service. Driven by an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, Hon. Jabiru Tsauri pursued further studies at the College of Education, Kafanchan, where he earned his National Certificate in Education (NCE). Yet, his ambition did not stop there. Recognizing the importance of continuous learning, he enrolled at Bayero University Kano, where he obtained his first degree. His academic journey culminated in a Master’s Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2009, positioning him as an expert in global affairs. Beyond formal education, Hon. Jabiru Tsauri enriched his expertise by attending various professional courses at prestigious institutes across the country. These courses include: - Basic IT Computer Training, Peoples Democratic Institute. - The Role of an Assistant in Public Policy Formulation, Legislation, and Good Governance, National Democratic Institute. - National Seminar for Legislative Aides, National Assembly/Project and Programs Services. - Website Development and Management, National Assembly, Abuja. - Legislative Practice, Bill Drafting, and Procedure, Strategic Network Systems. - Communication and Interpersonal Skills to Achieve Legislative Objectives. These training experiences honed his administrative and legislative skills, enabling him to serve effectively in various public roles. 

A Career Steeped in Public Service Honourable Jabiru Salisu Tsauri’s dedication to public service began in the field of education. From 1989 to 2003, he worked as a classroom teacher at Government Secondary School (GSS) Malumfashi, where he taught Geography and Applied Science. Not only did he serve as the Head of Geography Department, but he was also recognized as a Social Master, overseeing students’ extracurricular engagements. His work as an educator left a lasting impact on his students and colleagues alike, earning him respect as a mentor and leader. His journey into public administration began with an appointment as Special Assistant to the Senate Committee Chairman on Rules and Business from 2003 to 2007. Over the next decade, Hon. Jabiru Tsauri would hold several key positions in the Nigerian Senate, including Special Assistant to the Senate Committee Chairman on Defense and Army (2007-2011) and Special Assistant to the Senate President (2011-2015). His expertise in legislative affairs and governance solidified his standing as a trusted advisor and a man of great integrity. In 2018, Hon. Jabiru Tsauri’s leadership abilities were recognized by his local community when he was appointed Chairman of Kurfi Local Government Area, a role in which he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of his constituents. His business acumen was also highlighted during his tenure as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Orange Groove Hotel, a venture that showcased his versatility and commitment to excellence in all endeavors. In recent years, he played a pivotal role as Deputy Director General of the Dikko/Tinubu Campaign Organization in the 2023 elections and later served as a key member of the Katsina State Transition Committee. His influence on both local and national levels of governance has left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s political landscape. 

An Intellectual Voice and Thought Leader Beyond his extensive public service, Hon. Jabiru Salisu Tsauri is an intellectual with a keen interest in global issues, education, and governance. He has authored several thought-provoking articles, including: - The Influence of Heredity and Environment on the Growth Development of Intelligence. - The Impact of Iran’s Nuclear Programme on Global Peace and Security. - An Investigation into the Relationship between Personal Variables and Academic Achievement: A Case Study of GSS Malumfashi. - Katsina State and the Challenges of Democracy. - Reflections on Governance in Katsina State. These writings reflect his commitment to intellectual discourse, demonstrating a deep understanding of both local and international issues. Honouring Tradition: The Garkuwan Maradin Katsina and Lamidon Katsina Titles In recognition of his exemplary service and leadership, Honourable Jabiru Salisu Tsauri was honored with the title Garkuwan Maradin Katsina by the District Head of Kurfi. This prestigious title, meaning “Shield of the People,” symbolizes his role as a protector and leader of his community. Adding to this distinguished honor, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Katsina, bestowed upon him the grand title of Lamidon Katsina in March 2024. The turbaning ceremony today September 21st will formally recognize him as the pioneer holder of this prestigious title, a role that carries immense responsibility and embodies the values of leadership, wisdom, and service to the people of Katsina. 

A Legacy of Service and Leadership Honourable Jabiru Salisu Tsauri’s remarkable journey from humble beginnings to becoming the Chief of Staff at the Katsina State Government House is a testimony to his dedication, intellect, and service to his people.  As the pioneer Lamidon Katsina, Hon Tsauri will continue to serve as a beacon of hope, progress, and leadership for future generations. This turbaning ceremony is more than a personal milestone; it is a celebration of a man who has dedicated his life to the betterment of society.
