Katsina state Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has today declared opened a sensitization workshop for community rural dwellers on state's policies and programmes
The workshop which the theme "Empowering Rural Communities" Unlocking Opportunities For Sustainable Livelihoods At Rural Areas Across Katsina State" aims to to inform the participants on the various opportunities offers by the state government to improve their lives
Speaking at the flag off ceremony at Local Government Service Commission in Katsina, Governor Radda restated his unwavering commitments towards improving the living standard of the state's populace.
He said the state government has initiated various policies and programmes to achieve success in that direction
"What is always in our mind is our electorates who voted us in that position, especially those with critical needs to be uplifted to a better life.
"What ever we initiated, we do it in such a way to provide opportunity for our people especially the less previledge ones", Governor Radda declared.
He further informed the participants that plans are on top gear to establish a community level committee in 361 wards across the state to ensure that every government programmes targeted toward state'_s indigenes reach them directly and make them participate in the projects executions.
The Governor said the committee in every ward at the local governments will consist of every community stakeholders to achieve the desired goals.
"The committee will consist of traditional and community leaders, youths, women as well as various trade associations.
"Why we set up the committees are two reasons, firstly, to make sure that what ever projects we execute will be based on the wishes and aspirations of every community.
"Secondly, to ensure that every project we executed will be protected by the people of the community for sustainable development" he said.
Governor Radda disclosed that the state government initiated various programmes to support MSMEs both in the urban and rural areas among which is the state government collaboration with Bank Of Industry (BOI) to boost businesses in the state under which Four billion naira was provided to support businesses across the state.
He called on the participants to step down whatever they will be sensitized at workshop to their various communities in order to achieve the desired objectives.
"That is why we gathered you here, to be informed and take down what you were trained here to your various communities about policies and programmes aimed to empower and improve the living condition of our communities", he said.
The Special Adviser to the state governor on Rural And Social Development, Alhaji Abubakar Tsanni, noted that five representatives from each of the 34 local governments in the state participated in the workshop.
"These participants will serve as knowledge ambassadors, disseminating information about government initiatives and loan accessibility procedures in their communities".
Renowned entrepreneurs, Alhaji Hamisu Gambo Dan Lawan and Alhaji Akilu Hassan NAK commended the governor's commitment to security enhancement and socioeconomic growth in the state.
The event culminated in Governor Radda receiving an excellence award from the All Local Government Chairmen Forum (ALGON) for his outstanding contributions to security, agriculture, and education.
