On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, emphasized that no gathering compares in importance to the Maulud celebration, which honors the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Governor made this statement while attending the annual Maulud event at the residence of Alhaji Abdulaziz Mai Turaka, a tradition held each year to commemorate the birth of the revered Prophet.
In his remarks at the event, Governor Radda stated, "It is by Allah’s grace that I have once again been given the opportunity to participate in this significant gathering. The Maulud is the most important of all events because it celebrates the life and legacy of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), reinforcing our love and obedience to him."
He further added, "We must express gratitude to Allah for granting us the opportunity to be part of this celebration, which is solely dedicated to the remembrance of the Prophet. This year, like previous ones, we have attended several events, but none carry the weight of this one due to its profound spiritual significance."
Governor Radda also extended his heartfelt appreciation to Alhaji Abdulaziz Mai Turaka, the organizer of the Maulud, acknowledging his continuous efforts in hosting the event. "We pray that Allah rewards him abundantly for his dedication in organizing this annual gathering," he said.
In his welcome address, Alhaji Abdulaziz expressed his joy and gratitude to Allah for enabling him to organize the event once again. He also thanked Governor Radda for attending the Maulud for the third consecutive year, despite his busy schedule.
Alhaji Abdulaziz also expressed appreciation to former Katsina State Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari, for his presence at the event. He noted that such gatherings play a vital role in deepening love and reverence for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and in educating the public about his teachings.
In his closing remarks, Alhaji Abdulaziz offered prayers for the scholars and religious leaders present, asking Allah to bless them for their contributions to the success of the event.
During the event, Governor Dikko Radda, former Governor Aminu Bello Masari, and Alhaji Abdulaziz Mai Turaka were honored with awards of recognition from the National Association of Poets, led by Bashir Dan Musa, for their commitment to promoting the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and serving the community.
Scholars and clerics led prayers for peace and stability, and recitations of the Holy Qur'an were conducted to seek divine blessings for the nation.
