Katsina State Government Sets Up Committee for Distribution of Federal Palliatives

KATSINA, August 2, 2024  – The Katsina State Government has established a committee tasked with the distribution of rice palliatives allocated to the state by the Federal Government. The move comes in response to the socioeconomic challenges faced by citizens.

The committee's formation was approved by the Acting Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal HCIB, and it comprises key government officials and representatives from various sectors. The committee is chaired by Barr. Abdullahi Garba Faskari, the Secretary to the State Government.

Committee's Terms of Reference:
1. Confirm the number of bags of rice received from the Federal Government.
2. Develop a procedure for distributing the rice across the 34 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.
3. Establish sub-committees at the LGA level to facilitate distribution.
4. Monitor the distribution process by the sub-committees.
5. Ensure proper communication of the committee's activities to the public.
6. Complete the assignment and submit a report within three weeks from the committee's inauguration.

The committee's inauguration is scheduled for Friday, August 2, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the Conference Room of the Secretary to the Government of the State's Office, located at General Muhammadu Buhari House.
