Governor Radda Commends Tinubu on Establishment of North West Development Commission

Katsina State, July 24, 2024 — Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the North West Development Commission (NWDC) Bill into law, marking a pivotal moment in the region's development.

As the Chairman of the North West Governors Forum (NWGF), Governor Radda lauded President Tinubu's leadership and commitment to balanced development across Nigeria. He emphasized that the NWDC would tackle the North West's long-standing issues of infrastructural decay, security challenges, and socio-economic instability. The Commission aims to reconstruct roads, houses, and business premises, promote industrialization, and address ecological and environmental concerns.

Governor Radda affirmed the NWGF's dedication to collaborating with the NWDC to foster sustainable development. He highlighted ongoing initiatives in security, agriculture, education, healthcare, and infrastructure, which will benefit from the NWDC's structured support.

"The Governors of the North West are united in supporting the NWDC's mission. We are ready to mobilize resources and collaborate on strategic projects to transform the region into an economic and social hub. Our key areas of focus include promoting peace, ensuring food security, restoring infrastructure, fostering youth employment, and enhancing access to quality education and healthcare," stated Governor Radda.

He called on stakeholders, development partners, and citizens to support the NWDC's efforts. Governor Radda concluded by expressing his gratitude to President Tinubu and urged continued collaboration to realize the NWDC's goals, promising a brighter future for the North West marked by stability and prosperity.
