Tragedy in Katsina: Bandits Kill Five Police Officers in Ambush

In a devastating attack on Sunday morning, bandits ambushed a team of riot police officers in Katsina State, killing five and injuring one. 

The officers were en route to Jibia town from their camp in Zandam village, Jibia Local Government Area, when they were attacked at approximately 6:00 AM.

The bandits, who seized five AK-47 rifles from the slain officers, left one officer critically injured and receiving treatment at Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina. The whereabouts of the injured officer remain unknown.

Despite attempts to reach the Katsina State Police Command for a statement, the phone of the spokesperson, PPRO Abubakar Sadiq, was unreachable, and a message sent to him has not received a response.

This incident highlights the escalating violence in Katsina State and the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in the region. The attack has sent shockwaves through the community, and residents are calling for increased security measures to ensure their safety.
