Nigeria's Power Sector Gets Major Boost

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced substantial investments and advancements in the nation's power sector. These efforts have focused on constructing and upgrading critical circuits, modernizing transmission infrastructures, commissioning new transmission stations, and installing power transformers across its ten regions.
This comprehensive programme has significantly enhanced the execution of numerous capital and reinforcement projects. It has bolstered the grid for optimal electricity evacuation and transmission in states including Lagos, Ogun, Kebbi, Rivers, Kaduna, Kano, Gombe, and Anambra, among others.
The achievements of these initiatives are revolutionizing Nigeria's power landscape. Evidence of these advancements can be seen across various regions, with the completion of new substations and the reconductoring of aged 132kV lines. Aged transformers have been replaced with new, more efficient models, and transformer capacities have been substantially upgraded. Notably, the nation has reached multiple system generation peaks, with an all-time high of 5802 MW.
These strides represent a significant step forward in Nigeria's quest for a stable and efficient power supply, promising improved electricity delivery to millions of citizens and fostering economic growth and development.
