Deadly Attack in Ƙanƙara Leaves 50 Dead, Many Abducted"

At least 50 people were killed, and an unknown number abducted following an attack by bandits in Katsina State.

Residents of Yargoje told Reuters that the assailants stormed the village on Sunday night.

Dozens of gunmen infiltrated the village in Kankara Local Government Area, opening fire indiscriminately.

"They were shooting at everyone, killing 50 people, including my brother," Hassan Ya’u reported by phone.

Another Kankara resident, Abdullahi Yunusa, said he narrowly escaped, and the attacks continued well into the night.

"They turned our village into a killing field; almost no house was spared," he said.

State authorities have not commented at the time of this report.
