Inter-agency synergy crucial in combating insecurity — NIA DG

The Director General of Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, says collaboration between security and intelligence agencies is very crucial in combating all forms of security challenges facing the country.

The intelligence chief revealed this when the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, paid him a courtesy visit at the NIA headquarters Abuja.

Ambassador Abubakar  reiterated the agency’s mandate to protect the country’s interests and stressed the importance of collaboration among security agencies.

While acknowledging the challenges faced by security agencies, the spy chief urged them to remain steadfast in their commitment to their responsibilities.

The NIA chief also commended the defence chief and his delegation, emphasizing the crucial role of teamwork and cooperation in advancing the nation’s interests.

A statement by the DHQ spokesperson, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, said the purpose of the visit was to reinforce cooperation in addressing the prevailing security challenges faced by the country.
General Musa praised the NIA DG for his exceptional leadership and dedication to national service.

He expressed appreciation for the NIA’s  invaluable assistance to the Armed Forces of Nigeria and advocated for the adoption of advanced technology to effectively combat criminal activities.

Emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration, General Musa reiterated the military’s readiness to work closely for the greater benefit of the nation.
