Kabul: Pakistan has denounced the remarks made by the Indian Defense Minister during his recent television interview, which was prompted by media reports exposing India’s clandestine operations within Pakistan.
According to the spokesperson for the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad has consistently demonstrated its commitment to regional peace. However, Pakistan’s pursuit of peace should not be misconstrued as weakness, as its history underscores its resolve and capability to safeguard itself.
The statement asserts that the governing regime in India frequently employs divisive rhetoric to incite excessive nationalist sentiments and exploit such discourse for electoral advantage. These narrow-minded and irresponsible actions not only undermine regional peace but also impede the prospects of constructive long-term engagement, added the statement.
The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declared that the country provided undeniable evidence in late January this year, revealing India’s campaign of extrajudicial and cross-border assassinations on Pakistani territory. We call upon the international community to hold Delhi accountable for the reprehensible and unlawful actions outlined in the aforementioned statement, says the ministry.
In a recent program on CNN-News18, Rajnath Singh, the Indian Defense Minister, asserted that India enters Pakistan to eliminate individuals fleeing across the border after engaging in terrorist activities within that country.
The contentious statements by this member of Narendra Modi’s cabinet, were followed a day later by reports published in The Guardian alleging that Indian intelligence operatives have been responsible for the deaths of approximately 20 individuals in Pakistan since 2020, as part of a broader initiative to eradicate resident terrorists abroad.
