In a decisive move against the ongoing threat of banditry, the Katsina State Police Command, in collaboration with the Katsina Community Watch Corps (KTCWC), executed a coordinated raid on the Burdugau bandits' camp in Malumfashi LGA on February 21, 2024.
This operation, led by operatives from Kankara and Malumfashi Divisional Headquarters, yielded a substantial victory, recovering 332 suspected rustled animals and neutralizing several armed bandits.
The targeted raid, marked by strategic precision, not only retrieved a significant number of suspected rustled animals but also dealt a severe blow to the banditry menace in the state, diminishing the threat posed by these criminal elements.
Regrettably, amidst these commendable achievements, one member of the KTCWC and one vigilante group member lost their lives, while one police officer sustained injuries during the operation. It is reassuring, however, to report that the injured officer is currently receiving medical treatment and responding positively.
Commending the professionalism and bravery of the operatives, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Police Command, underscores the commitment of the command to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens. This successful raid operation reaffirms their resolve to confront and neutralize criminal activities, ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
As we pray for the repose of the souls of the deceased officers, the CP extends his deepest condolences to their families, acknowledging the bravery, dedication, and sacrifices exhibited by these officers, which will be remembered forever.
