Nigeria Police Forces Thwart Kidnapping Syndicate and Neutralize Bandits in Sokoto State Operations

Sokoto, February 15, 2024 - In a relentless pursuit against armed bandits and criminals, the Sokoto State Police Command, on February 13, 2024, at approximately 2030hrs, apprehended a group of five individuals suspected to be part of a kidnapping syndicate along the Bodinga-Tambunwal Highway. Acting on gathered intelligence, operatives intercepted the suspects, who were found in possession of three AK-47 rifles, 90 rounds of live ammunition, and 3 AK-47 magazines.
The arrested suspects, Abdullahi Ali, Aliyu Mohammed, Abdullahi Umar, Aliyu Abdullahi, and Mohammed Anas, confessed to their involvement and disclosed plans for a kidnapping operation in Tambuwal, thwarted by the vigilant efforts of the Nigeria Police Force.
Similarly, on February 14, 2024, around 5:50 pm, suspected bandits near Gigane Village, Sokoto State, were identified and pursued by the State Tactical Team. A fierce gun duel ensued, resulting in the neutralization of some bandits, with the recovery of a GPMG rifle and six live ammunition at the scene.
Ongoing efforts are focused on apprehending other fleeing members of the gang and addressing criminal elements in the state, ensuring they face the full force of the law.
