Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State has approved the sum of N38,500,000 for the payment of maintenance allowances to 77 identified indigent students studying at Nigerian Law School.

The Executive Secretary of the State Scholarship Board, Dr. Aminu Salisu, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Salisu Lawal-Kerau, on Saturday.

He said the governor has approved the release of the funds to the board for the payment of the allowances to the 77 students for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 academic sessions.

He explained that the gesture was under Governor Radda’s administration efforts to mitigate the effects of economic hardship faced by the Katsina state students at the Nigerian Law School.

The statement reads: This is to inform the general public, especially Katsina State indigenes studying at Nigerian Law school, that His Excellency, the Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, has graciously approved the release of the sum of thirty-eight million five hundred thousand naira (N38,500,000) only to the board.

“The money is meant for the payment of maintenance allowances to the 77 identified indigenes of Katsina State studying at Nigerian Law School for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 academic sessions.

“In light of the foregoing, the board has finished all necessary arrangements to effect the payment as soon as possible.”
