IGP Implements Strategic Deployment: 14 AIGs and 21 Police Commissioners Redeployed to Tackle Security Challenges

In a proactive response to the escalating security concerns gripping the nation, Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has initiated a comprehensive redeployment, reassigning 14 Assistant Inspector Generals of Police (AIGs) and 21 Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various critical roles.
The directive, aimed at bolstering security measures, was revealed through an official statement issued by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in Abuja on Tuesday.
Adejobi, via his verified X handle, listed the newly redeployed officers, including AIGs Yetunde Longe, Haruna Gabriel Garba, Tajudeen Akinwale Abass, Julius Alawiri Okoro, George Chijioke Chuku, and CPs Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo, Mohammed Dahiru, Dankombo Faling Morris, and David Iloyanomon, among others.
Furthermore, the IGP has instructed the immediate posting and redeployment of an additional 17 AIGs and 18 CPs, signaling a comprehensive overhaul of the police leadership structure.
Adejobi outlined the reassignments, stating that AIG Yetunde O. Longe is now assigned to AIG Training, AIG Haruna Gabriel Garba to AIG Armament, and AIG Rex Dundun to AIG FCID Annex Kaduna, among others.
Congratulating the officers on their promotions, the IGP underscored the significance of leveraging their experience to address pressing security challenges in their new roles. He expressed confidence that their collective efforts would significantly contribute to the pursuit of excellence in fulfilling the constitutional responsibilities of the police force.
