In a groundbreaking executive meeting at the Government House, Gusau, Governor Dauda Lawal emphasized his unwavering stance against corruption and inefficiency in Zamfara State.

During the inaugural Extraordinary Council meeting of 2024, Governor Lawal addressed senior appointees, commissioners, and special advisers, urging them to align with his mission and bring about essential changes.

Lawal asserted, "You are Chief Executive Officers in your respective MDAs, appointed to provide leadership, not to engage in contracts or misallocate resources. We are here to serve and uplift our people, not to exploit public funds."

Emphasizing his commitment to public service, the Governor sternly warned against corruption, stating, "I will not tolerate any act of corruption or indolence. This administration is not about personal enrichment; it's about transforming the state for the better."

Governor Lawal outlined plans for civil service reform, envisioning a model that prioritizes efficiency and effectiveness. He tasked the Head of the Civil Service with developing a proposal for comprehensive reform, aiming to elevate the state's civil service to new heights.

Furthermore, Lawal expressed a commitment to capacity building, announcing plans to train civil servants both domestically and internationally. He concluded with a call for excellence, emphasizing his support for a reformed and proficient civil service dedicated to serving the people of Zamfara State.
