The Katsina State Government has reiterated its dedication to improving overall security across all regions of the state. Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu Danmusa, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, conveyed this assurance during a productive meeting with stakeholders hailing from the frontline Local Government areas grappling with security challenges.

Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu affirmed that the state government has given the green light for the immediate recruitment of one hundred Vigilantes from each of the eight frontline Local Government areas. He assured that the government would provide an allowance to support the Vigilantes, aiming to incentivize their efforts.

In addition to these initiatives, the Commissioner confirmed that an armored Buffalo Bullet troop vehicle would be allocated to each of the frontline Local Government areas. This vehicle will be used by security agents to enhance their operations. The provision of these vehicles will be complemented by a substantial number of Hilux vehicles for each of the aforementioned local government areas. The government will also ensure the provision of fuel and logistics support to facilitate their operational efficiency.

Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu encouraged stakeholders from the affected areas, including Danmusa, Kankara, Safana, Faskari, Sabuwa, Dandume, Batsari, and Jibia Local Government areas, to foster communication and collaboration among neighboring local governments. The purpose of these meetings would be to discuss and implement strategies aimed at curtailing security challenges.

Representatives from various sectors including Local Council Chairmen, District Heads, Imams, Police officials, and other security operatives were present at the meeting. Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, Kanwan Katsina Alh. Usman Bello Kankara assured the government of their unwavering commitment to supporting the proposed policies, particularly those pertaining to the security sector.
