Sources have confirmed to Katsina Times that security operatives in plain clothes invited Alhaji Yau Umar Gwajo-Gwajo, a political adviser to the Katsina State Governor, for questioning over an interview he granted on a Facebook platform.
According to the sources, the invitation followed certain remarks allegedly made by Gwajo-Gwajo during the interview, which some observers believe could generate further controversy and incite members of the public.
The sources said Gwajo-Gwajo honoured the invitation and presented his position in writing, explaining what he meant by the statements he made during the Facebook interview.
They further disclosed that an understanding was reached between the security operatives and Gwajo-Gwajo regarding the matter arising from the interview.
Political activities in Katsina State have intensified in recent days, particularly among some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Some political observers believe that certain individuals are contributing to the growing political tension in pursuit of their personal interests.
Katsina Times made efforts to reach Alhaji Yau Umar Gwajo-Gwajo and a security official who reportedly questioned him when he visited the security facility. However, the efforts were unsuccessful as of the time of filing this report.
