President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday commended Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for his efforts in tackling insecurity, citing what he described as the governor’s commitment to protecting lives, property, and national stability.

The president made the remarks while declaring open the second edition of the National Economic Council meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, according to a statement issued by the Katsina State Government.

Tinubu praised Radda’s approach to security in Katsina State, noting his determination to counter criminal activities and restore peace in areas affected by insecurity.

The president also commended Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State for their efforts to address security challenges in their respective states.

Responding to the commendation, Governor Radda expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for the recognition, attributing recent progress to cooperation among stakeholders and the support of residents of Katsina State.

“This recognition belongs to the people of Katsina State and our gallant security agencies who have stood firm in the face of adversity,” Radda said. “We are making progress because we are working together.”

The governor said his administration would continue to prioritise security and support security agencies operating in the state.

“We will not relent. We will continue to support our security forces with everything they need until peace is fully restored to every corner of Katsina,” he said.

Radda added that his government would sustain current efforts until lasting peace is achieved across the state.

The statement was signed by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Katsina State, and dated February 10, 2026.
