The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the successful submission of the names and credentials of its presidential and vice-presidential candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), marking a major milestone in the party’s preparations for the forthcoming general elections.
According to the party, its presidential candidate, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, and vice-presidential candidate, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, have been officially uploaded to INEC’s nomination portal in compliance with electoral requirements.
The development was disclosed on Tuesday night by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, through a post on his official X account.
Abdullahi described the successful submission as a significant achievement for the party and a clear indication of its determination to participate fully in the electoral process.
“We are pleased to announce the successful upload of the names and particulars of our presidential and vice-presidential candidates to the INEC nomination portal,” he stated.
He noted that the move represents another important step in ADC’s efforts to position itself as a formidable political force ahead of the elections, while reaffirming its commitment to providing Nigerians with a credible leadership alternative.
According to him, the party’s campaign is built on the principles of competence, national unity, and a renewed vision for governance aimed at addressing the country’s pressing socio-economic and political challenges.
Political observers view the submission of candidates’ particulars as a crucial stage in the electoral process, as parties intensify preparations for campaigns and other activities leading up to the polls.
The ADC has in recent months sought to strengthen its political structures and broaden its appeal across the country, presenting itself as a platform capable of driving national renewal and delivering effective governance.
With the successful upload of its candidates’ details, the party has signalled its readiness to engage Nigerians and compete vigorously in what is expected to be a highly contested general election.
