Governor Radda Receives Faith Leaders, Advocates Stronger Community Cooperation to Tackle Insecurity, Drive Development

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has advocated for stronger community cooperation to tackle insecurity and drive development in the State.

The Governor made this call while hosting representatives of Gamayyar Kungiyoyin Addinai (Christian Association), Islamic organisations, and several community-based groups from Dandume Local Government Area at the State Government House.

Addressing the faith leaders, Governor Radda commended the delegation for the visit, describing it as a positive signal of unity and shared responsibility among the people of Dandume.

"This kind of unity and cooperation is not only beneficial to Dandume but to Katsina State as a whole, especially in strengthening leadership and advancing community development," the Governor said.

He emphasized that meaningful development can only be sustained where there is cooperation, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence among citizens.

"When communities unite and work together, development becomes easier and more sustainable. You have set a commendable example worthy of emulation," he added.

Speaking on border security, Governor Radda acknowledged the ongoing challenges of banditry, noting that some of the threats extend from neighbouring parts of Kaduna State.

He directed immediate action from relevant security structures in the area.

"I am instructing the Dandume Security Committee to work closely with the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs to design and implement lasting solutions," he stated.

The Governor also urged political leaders, traditional rulers, and residents to support government efforts toward maintaining peace, warning against actions that could weaken security operations.

"All politicians and community members must act responsibly as ambassadors of their communities. Some of these security issues are sustained by local support networks, and that must stop," he cautioned.

"The misuse of social media to circulate false or misleading information is also worsening the situation and must be discouraged," he added.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Alhaji Abdulmutallab Suleiman, presented members of the various religious and community organisations, noting that the visit had been carefully planned over several months.

He conveyed the appreciation of the people of Dandume for ongoing development projects executed in the area under the Governor’s administration, particularly in healthcare, education, and road infrastructure.

"We are here to sincerely appreciate Your Excellency for the remarkable projects in our community, especially the General Hospital, schools, and road networks. We remain fully supportive of your leadership," the delegation stated.

Representatives of various groups reaffirmed their commitment to unity and peaceful coexistence, while members of the business community also praised the administration’s developmental impact in the area.

The meeting was attended by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; the Commissioner for Health, Hon. Musa Adamu; alongside other senior government officials.
