The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has carried out an inspection visit to the newly constructed Katsina State Hybrid Buses Maintenance Depot, a facility designed for the assembly, maintenance, and servicing of the state’s recently approved 30 hybrid buses.

It will be recalled that the procurement of the 30 hybrid buses was approved by the State Executive Council during its 14th regular meeting held last year.

During the inspection, the Governor, who was conducted round by Malam Ibrahim Bello, toured both the exterior and interior sections of the facility to assess the level of work done and determine its readiness for operation.

The depot is a purpose-built modern technical hub intended for the housing, maintenance, and eventual assembly of hybrid buses under the state’s sustainable transport initiative.

The facility is expected to play a key role in the efficient deployment of transportation services for students, daily commuters, and members of the general public across various locations in the state.

It will also support the long-term sustainability of the hybrid transport programme, aimed at reducing transportation costs and improving mobility.

The project aligns with the administration of Governor Radda’s broader agenda of strengthening infrastructure, promoting clean and energy-efficient transport solutions, and enhancing service delivery in Katsina State.

The Governor was accompanied on the inspection visit by the Chief of Staff, Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, alongside other senior government officials.
