As preparations intensify for the commencement of the key Hajj rites at Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifa, officials of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), State Pilgrims Welfare Boards and other stakeholders have continued strategic engagements in Makkah to ensure smooth coordination of operations for Nigerian pilgrims.

A high-level pre-Arafat meeting was held at Larooz Al-Sindi Hotel in Makkah on Saturday night, bringing together NAHCON officials, Executive Directors and Executive Secretaries of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, operational officials and other relevant stakeholders involved in the 2026 Hajj exercise.

The meeting focused on final arrangements for the movement of pilgrims to Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifa, as well as coordination of related Hajj rituals and welfare services.

The stakeholders reviewed operational plans aimed at ensuring orderly transportation, effective crowd management, pilgrims’ safety and seamless performance of the spiritual rites during the Mashair period, which represents the peak of the Hajj exercise.

In a related development, officials of the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board also held a separate meeting in Makkah with officials of Mashariq Adhdhahabiyyah Company, the service provider responsible for transportation and logistics arrangements for pilgrims during the Mashair rites.

The meeting centered on preparations for the conveyance of Katsina State pilgrims to Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifa in line with the approved operational timetable.

Among those who attended the engagement were Alhaji Bishir Dangambo, Dr. Nasir Danzariya, Director of Operations, and Alhaji Hassan Ibrahim Bindawa, Assistant Director of Operations.

The Katsina State Hajj Delegation reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with relevant authorities and service providers to ensure a smooth, safe and successful Hajj operation for all pilgrims from the state.
